Die Stadt Pingyuan liegt im östlichen Teil des Kreises Zijin in Bijie, eingebettet zwischen Bergen, Pavillons, Lotusteichen und Weiden. Sie repräsentiert eine uralte Stadt mit einer typischen Jiangnan-Landschaft. Obwohl diese Landschaft die Stadt dominiert, wandelt sie sich stetig - neben natürlichen Elementen wie "fließenden Wolken durch Löcher" und "zwei Spiegelpools" finden sich hier auch geschichtsträchtige Stätten wie die Nationalakademie und alte Pingyuan-Gebäude.
Die einzelnen Attraktionen sind durch Seen voneinander getrennt, aber durch kleine Brücken miteinander verbunden. Die Verschönerung mit grünen Bäumen und Stein verleiht dem Ganzen den malerischen Charakter eines südlichen Jangtse-Gartens, der förmlich nach Fotomotiven ruft. Gleichzeitig wird in der Altstadt auch die traditionelle Kultur von Zijin gepflegt, sodass man eine Vielzahl an lokalen Spezialitäten wie kalte Buchweizennudeln, Reisbällchen und Zijin-Haar-Poi probieren kann.
Im Vergleich zu vielen anderen, stark kommerzialisierten Altstädten, ist Pingyuan ein Ort, an dem man wirklich Abstand vom Alltagsstreß finden und Ruhe und Frieden genießen kann.

Die hohe Mitte und die niedrigen Seitenwände der Pfanne lassen das überschüssige Fett automatisch abfließen, so dass alle Zutaten gleichmäßig damit benetzt werden, ohne dabei zu fettig zu werden.
Unbedingt probieren sollten Sie die Schweinesehnen, eine regionale Delikatesse. Die zart-elastischen, in der geheimen Chili-Sauce des Besitzers gebratenen Sehnen, zusammen mit Zutaten wie Schweinefüßchen, Zucchini und Hühnerhaut, sind sogar noch süchtig machender als herkömmlicher Barbecue. Im Lokal gibt es darüber hinaus drei verschiedene Sorten Chilinudeln, jede mit ihrer eigenen Spezialität.
Einziger Nachteil ist, dass der Parkplatz etwas eingeschränkt ist und man in der Altstadt denselben Weg zurückfahren muss, den man gekommen ist.

Selbst aus der Ferne wird man von der genialen Schöpfung der Natur beeindruckt sein. Auch im Sommer herrscht in der Höhle eine angenehme Durchschnittstemperatur von etwa 13 Grad Celsius.
Die Besichtigung erfolgt in Einbahnstraßenrichtung. Nach dem Betreten der Höhle muss der komplette Weg zu Fuß zurückgelegt werden, bevor man mit dem Elektroauto zum Aussichtspunkt zurückfährt.

Die Straße ist durchgehend gut befahrbar, auch für Anfänger, wobei ständige Kurven zu beachten sind. Am Fluss kann man zwar schwimmen, doch das tiefe Wasser kann gefährlich sein. Da es viele Treppen und Schotterwege gibt, sollten ältere Menschen und Besucher mit eingeschränkter Mobilität lieber die Aussichtsplattformen und kleinen Plätzchen nutzen.

Alternativ kann man auch das eigene Zelt mitbringen. Die Landschaft des Yushe-Waldparks ist naturbelassen - man fährt auf Waldwegen, blickt auf ferne Berggipfel und atmet die frische Luft.
In der ethnischen Yi-Stadt Thousand Households in Haiping verbinden sich traditionelle und moderne architektonische Elemente zu einem einzigartigen Stil. Zu den Attraktionen gehören die Neun Paläste, der Sonnenkalenderplatz und das Tusi-Gut. Besonders spektakulär ist das jährliche Yi-Fackelfest am 24. Zusätzlich zu den vom Wind verwehten Gräsern und der Landschaft mit Rindern und Schafen öffnen sich jedes Jahr zwischen Mitte März und Anfang Mai fast 100.000 Hektar wilde Azaleen auf der Hochebene. Das gesamte Grasland ist dann mit rosa Azaleenhügeln gefüllt, die einen außergewöhnlichen Anblick bieten. Auf dem Wumeng-Grasland befindet sich auch ein natürlicher See, der von Bergen umgeben ist und der Prärie den letzten Schliff verleiht.
Neben der atemberaubenden Naturlandschaft ist das Wumeng-Grasland auch sehr verspielt. Im Sommer kann man hier Schlittschuh laufen, wobei eine Vielzahl von Eislaufgeräten zur Verfügung steht und man in engem Kontakt mit dem Gras den Nervenkitzel erleben kann, den Berghang hinunter zu sausen. Im Winter bedecken Schnee und Eis das Grasland, und der silberverkleidete Wumeng-Berg hat eine andere, faszinierende Schönheit.

Der von Bergen umgebene Wanfeng-See ist so groß wie zwei Erhai-Meere. Die klassischste Art, den See zu genießen, ist eine etwa eineinhalbstündige Bootsfahrt, bei der man an Sehenswürdigkeiten wie dem Renmian-Berg und dem Wangfushi-Stein vorbeifährt. Wenn das Wetter bewölkt und regnerisch ist, entsteht eine besonders angenehme Atmosphäre. Der Wanfeng-See ist reich an Fischereierzeugnissen und gilt als Paradies für Wildfischer - auf beiden Seiten des Sees fischen viele Angler, was ein beeindruckendes Bild bietet.
In der Mitte des Sees gibt es auch ein burgähnliches Hotel, dessen Anblick bei einer Kanutour auf dem Wasser sehr reizvoll ist. Es war einst das Kerngebiet für die Armee der frühen Ming-Dynastie, und die acht Dörfer um es herum waren geordnet verteilt und in der Lage, sowohl einzeln zu kämpfen als auch sich gegenseitig zu unterstützen, was es zu einem Meisterwerk des militärischen Verteidigungssystems machte und daher auch als die "letzte Festung der Ära der kalten Waffen" bekannt ist.
Heutzutage verfügt Yunfeng Tunbao noch über viele historische Relikte, das ganze Dorf ist aus Stein gebaut, unter der Steinmauer ist es voll von dem verbliebenen Charme von Jianghuai. An den Straßenrändern der Festung verkaufen die Einheimischen ihre Waren zu zweit und zu dritt, und an den noch nicht zu stark erschlossenen Orten spürt man den Hauch des Lebens am deutlichsten. Anfang Mai ist die Zeit der reifen Kirschen, fast jede Familie baut gelbe Kirschen an, die man zum Probieren pflücken kann.

Jeden Frühling, zur Zeit der Kirschblüte, verwandelt sich der 10.000 Hektar große Kirschblütengarten in Anshun Pingba in ein spektakuläres Meer aus rosa Blüten und gilt als der größte Kirschblütengarten der Welt. Es ist fast unmöglich, den gesamten Garten zu Fuß zu durchqueren. Die Kirschblütenallee, die am meisten blüht, ist der schönste Ort, aber sie ist auch am vollsten, und wenn man weiter hinein geht, findet man vielleicht noch mehr Nischen, um die Blüten zu genießen.
Es gibt auch einen Hubschrauberflug zur Besichtigung der Blüten, der etwa 10 Minuten dauert und rund 900 RMB kostet. Das 10.000 Hektar große Kirschblütenmeer ist spektakulär, aber man sollte es am besten vermeiden, an Wochenenden dorthin zu fahren. Innerhalb des Geländes werden keine Speisen verkauft, aber außerhalb der Kirschblütengärten gibt es lokale Spezialitäten wie reisgekühlte Garnelen und heiße Bohnen-Reis-Töpfe.
